The Educational Material

The GEAR against IPV material was designed in order to support the implementation of interventions promoting gender equality as a means of primary prevention of Intimate Partner Violence in the teenage population.

The Master Package aims at promoting the development of National Packages, if possible, for all EU countries, which was the reason for developing it so as to include necessary instructions for facilitating the creation of appropriately tailored National Packages for other countries.

Each National Package should, after the Master material has been completed and appropriately culturally adapted, be a comprehensive tool for the organisation, preparation, implementation and evaluation of primary prevention of gender-based violence interventions conducted with adolescents (in schools or other settings).

The 1st Edition of the Master “GEAR against IPV” Package (2011) was developed in the context of the previous GEAR against IPV project that was carried out from 2009 to 2011 with financial support from the Daphne III Programme of the European Union (... the 1st Edition of the Master Package can be found here).
A Revised Edition of the Master Package was developed in the context of the current GEAR against IPV II project (... read more about the Revised Master GEAR against IPV Package here).

During the period from 2010 to 2015, National GEAR against IPV Packages have been developed and evaluated for 7 Member States of the European Union after translation, completion and cultural adaptation of the Master GEAR against IPV Package. More specifically, the following 7 National Packages are available:

    • German
