National Conferences

On 21st June 2016 was held the project's National Conference in Nicosia (Cyprus)!  

The Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies (MIGS), in collaboration with the Directorate of Secondary Education and the Cyprus Pedagogical Institute, organized the National Conference of the GEAR against IPV II Project.

The conference, that took place on 21st June, started with a welcoming speech given by the Commissioner for Childrens’ Rights Ms. Leda Koursoumba who emphasised the need for the implementation of such projects on a systematic basis in all levels of education. She stressed that the GEAR IPV approach and manuals are very well-structured, comprehensive and child-centered calling for its implementation in a larger scale (speech available in Greek here). Christina Kaili, Project Coordinator at MIGS, presented the main objectives, activities, and results of the project (presentation available here). Following, students and their teachers that implemented and participated in the project presented their experiences and views. 

A total of 75 participants attended the conference.

The creations of the students that were produced during the workshops were exhibited at the conference, including drawings, posters, songs, and sculptures.
