The Partnership

The partnership consists of 6 organizations from 5 European countries. The Project is coordinated by European Anti-Violence Network (Greece) with the participation of organizations from:

  • Cyprus (Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies - MIGS)
  • Croatia (Center for Education, Counselling and Research - CESI)
  • Romania (Association for Liberty and Equality of Gender - ALEG)
  • Spain (Plataforma unitària contra les violències de gènere - PUCVG)
  • Greece (The Smile of the Child - SoC)

The Project’s External Evaluation is undertaken by Prof. Carol Hagemann-White.

All organizations of this partnership have a long history in gender-based violence prevention at local, regional and European level. They have extended experience in a) raising awareness of children, teens and young people on Intimate Partner Violence (IPV)/Gender-based Violence (GBV)/Sexual Violence (SV) issues, b) training educators and other professionals, c) development of education and information manuals, d) conducting surveys and e) disseminating information via innovative and interactive means. All have strong collaboration with schools, teachers and young people.

    European Anti-Violence Network (EAVN)

    European Anti-Violence Network (EAVN), is a non-profit, non-governmental organization, founded in 2006. The aims of EAVN are scientific, educational and research oriented. EAVN's activities include the design and implementation of research, educational or other scientific activities aimed at primary, secondary or tertiary prevention of violence against women and girls and especially Intimate Partner Violence (IPV).

    Center for Education, Counseling and Research (CESI) - Croatia

    About CESI  

    CESI - Center for Education, Counseling and Research is a feminist organization established on International Women's Day - March 8, 1997 - in response to the violation of human rights, especially women's and minority rights, problems of militarization, nationalism and the deterioration of economic standard in the post-war period. CESI was founded by activists and members of women's and peace initiatives that have years of experience working with women survivors of war trauma. The core team counts 20 members, and a number of associates and volunteers that contribute to the development and achievement of our goals.

    Association for Liberty and Equality of Gender - (A.L.E.G.) - Romania

    Association for Liberty and Equality of Gender (A.L.E.G.) is a Romanian non-governmental organization located in Sibiu, Romania and active since 2004 on promoting gender equality and fighting gender-based violence. At national level, A.L.E.G. initiated in 2014 the first network of NGOs focused on the issue of sexual violence (“Breaking the Silence on Sexual Violence”), while A.L.E.G.’s international networking includes participation in the coordination of the European WAVE network and ASTRA network.  At local level A.L.E.G. is member in the Equal Opportunity Committee and Sibiu Social network.

    Unitary Platform Against Gender Violence, is a non-profit organization founded in 2002, and formed by 110 organizations of Catalonia, that share and promote a social movement to end violence against women in our society.

    Networking is our strength: we exchange ideas, experiences and best practices. Together we seek appropriate strategies to overcome resistance to change of the traditional patriarchal society.

    The Smile of the Child (SoC) was established in 1996. Since then it has grown into a leading NGO dealing with children rights and welfare in Greece and internationally. The SoC has 11 points of access across Greece and approximately 400 permanent staff members.
